All the children at LBJ Elementary School have a great deal of pride in their attendance. It is often the most important part of the day when the teacher says “Everyone is here”! They love to chatter in the hall and brag to each other about their classroom winning possession of the huge shiny gold attendance trophy.
Recently at Highland-Turner Elementary School had a new principal, and her name was Ms. McIntosh. She got rewarded with this privilege by reaching 200 A.R points!! Ms. McIntosh got to spend the day here at Highland-Turner Elementary being a principal and having all the responsibilities of one. This young lady got to observe classes, answer phone calls, eat with teachers, run errands, and observe the kids while they were working. All of the faculty and staff here at Highland-Turner Elementary would like to congratulate Ms. McIntosh on her outstanding work.

Students at SMS really enjoyed the “Kick off to Testing” bash that the Youth Service Center sponsored. Students and teachers alike enjoyed this event. Students were treated to pizza and soft drinks and snacks when they registered. After getting their bellies full, students could participate in several activities. They could sing Karaoke, play corn hole, Rock Band, Madden, scavenger hunt or play Deal or No Deal. This two hour fun filled activity and would like to thank Teresa Combs, Karen Griffith, Sabrina Turner, Bonnie Lively, and Lauren Bates for this great “Kick off to Testing” activity.
