Well my friends, as usual another week has passed us by. It is already done and gone. I sincerely hope that you all are doing good. There has been a lot of deaths again this week; some were friends and some were related to friends. They all need prayer, parting with a loved one is always hard. As we look at the times that we live in, we need to realize that we must be making things right with the Lord. If we havent already, it wouldn’t pay to put it off.
I am glad that I got to talk to Theresa this week; she said that all of the family are doing well. Her mom Fern is the sweetest lady! As I was driving down the road I looked and saw how big the river is getting; it is very big. My friend Lula said that her mom always said that stuff floating down the middle of the river meant that the river hadn’t stopped rising yet, because stuff is coming out of the hollers. I just think that is awful! Must we be litter bugs? No one likes looking at trash flowing down the river, not to mention that there are some who like to fish, BUT who would want to eat a fish from nasty water? It doesn’t take that much effort to drop something into the trash unless you are totally lazy. Let’s please do what’s right, don’t be a litterbug. This month is when the Spring Clean-Up is going on and I think that Calvin and his crew are doing a wonderful job in our county, but why should anyone else have to pick up our mess; I don’t think that it is fair. We need to ask ourselves if we would like to pick up someone’s mess and we need to say thank you to Calvin for his fine work. It really takes someone who cares about people and our community to go around doing the job that he does; he should be thanked and respected.
The Bible says to give honor where honor is due. God knows there are people out there who has a heart to do for others and not just for themselves, so we need to all pitch in there ourselves and be that kind of person so that we can help lighten each other’s load. This would be very pleasing unto God. Friends, let’s do all we can in this life to be a good friend and neighbor to one another, one day we will stand before God and I am sure that we all would want Him to say “Enter in”, but we need to examine ourselves concerning our lifestyle; can the Lord say “Enter in” when it is our turn?
I will leave you this week with this thought - If the answer is no then please do something about it now. Until next week, let’s remember what I say - if you want to have a successful week is to include God in it.
Take care. Cathaleen Abner, 666-9578, turners_creek_news@yahoo.com.
